How A-level results day 2026 worked
Results were released by schools and colleges in England, Wales and Northern Ireland on Thursday 13 August 2026. Most made them available from around 8am UK time, and each centre set its own collection arrangements (in person, email or a student portal).
UCAS updated applications on results morning, so many students checked their UCAS Hub for a confirmed firm or insurance place before collecting their results slip.
Students without a place could use UCAS Clearing from results day. UCAS Adjustment was no longer available, so students whose grades beat their offer and who wanted to look elsewhere used Clearing, releasing an unconditional firm place with "Decline my place" where needed. Declining could not be undone.
Students who thought a grade was wrong asked their school or college to request a review of marking or an appeal through the exam board, within the published deadlines.
